Cowpokes & Coffee, Sardinia Library’s western book club, meets Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 9:30am-10:30am. We will discuss News of the World by Paulette Jiles (the basis for the hit movie starring Tom Hanks).
Civil War veteran Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd makes his living as an itinerant news reader. Kidd travels from town to town out west reading newspaper articles to settlers and townspeople hungry for news of the world. He is tasked by the army with taking a young girl, recently rescued after four years held captive by Kiowas, to her only surviving family. This exciting tale is filled with thrilling adventures and hard moral choices.
